Antonio Conte will have his Italy get-together from February 9 to 11, but clubs are not “obliged” to release players.

The decision was made following a meeting of the Lega Serie A and confirmed by President Maurizio Beretta.

“The get-together will go ahead and we can be certain the participants will include those teams not involved in European competition. The others can decide what to do themselves,” said Beretta.

The decision was made following a meeting of the Lega Serie A and confirmed by President Maurizio Beretta.

“The get-together will go ahead and we can be certain the participants will include those teams not involved in European competition. The others can decide what to do themselves,” said Beretta.

This means Juventus, Roma, Napoli, Inter, Fiorentina and Torino can withhold their players from international duty.

“The most practical solution is to meet from February 9 to 11. It is a solution that is dictated by balance and common sense.

“Of course, we will need to receive insurance cover the same way FIFA does during the official international windows.”
