La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Mario Balotelli’s agent offered the Liverpool outcast to Inter, but the fans are in revolt.
There are even unconfirmed reports this morning that Balotelli wrote a message on his 'secret' Facebook page: "The suitcase is packed... The time has come to return to where I grew up and you know it too. I have made my decision."
The Italy striker scored just one goal at Anfield since his transfer from Milan and has been repeatedly dropped by manager Brendan Rodgers.
There have been rumours of Balotelli potentially seeking a return to his first major club and a third spell working with Roberto Mancini after Inter and Manchester City.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, agent Mino Raiola has actively called Inter and asked them to come in for Balo.
He’d be available on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
However, there is one huge stumbling block for this idea and that is the vociferous protest of the Inter fans.
Balotelli left the club on very bitter terms in 2010, the low point coming when he threw his shirt to the ground at the final whistle of a Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.
He also made absolutely no secret of the fact he was a life-long supporter of their arch rivals Milan.
As the rumours emerged in recent weeks of a possible Balotelli comeback, Inter ultras have been loudly singing ‘We don’t want Balotelli’ during every game.
