Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has slammed Milan, calling the Rossoneri ‘scavengers’ for targeting his players.

Speaking to Radio Sportiva, the Rosanero patron discussed the futures of Paulo Dybala and Franco Vazquez, and hit out at the Diavolo.

“[Juventus’ director general Giuseppe] Marotta hasn’t asked me about Vazquez,” Zamparini insisted.

“If he wanted him, he’d have called me. In any case, he and Dybala aren’t on the market.

“Renewals? We have to protect ourselves, because there are a lot of scavengers in football who go looking for players and tell them not to sign.

“For example, we’re talking to [Edgar] Barreto and [Ezequiel] Munoz, and I believe that both will sign a renewal, but there’s some pessimism because of these scavengers, and Milan are an example of that.”

The Palermo owner also spoke about the team’s campaign this term, and believes Giuseppe Iachini’s men can qualify for Europe.

“We’ve proven that we’re Serie A quality.

“We can make it to Europe, but our first goal is to stay up.”
