The Nerazzurri and the Merseyside club are believed to be the front-runners for the signature of the Swiss attacker, with Inter reportedly agreeing terms with the player, but yet to convince Bayern Munich.

According to SportMediaset, the reverse is true in Liverpool’s case. It is reported that the Anfield club have agreed a fee of €15m with Bayern Munich for the player’s transfer, but are yet to sell the player on a switch to England.

This could prove a stumbling block for the Beneamata according to the news outlet, as they are restricted by Financial Fair Play concerns and are only able to offer a loan deal with the right to buy, something which Bayern are not keen on.

However, SportMediaset insists that the Nerazzurri remain confident of landing the Swiss international, believing that his preference would be a move to San Siro.
