Inter President Erick Thohir has welcomed Xherdan Shaqiri to the club, in addition to Lukas Podolski.
Shaqiri arrived in Milan tonight to put the finishing touches to a move from Bayern Munich to the Nerazzurri, with the Swiss international mobbed by fans at Malpensa airport.
The 23-year-old will undergo a medical tomorrow, before joining up with his teammates on a six-month loan deal, before joining permanently in the summer. The deal is thought to be worth around €15m.
Podolski completed a loan move from Arsenal earlier this week, and has also welcomed Shaqiri’s arrival.
“I’m happy about the fans’ enthusiasm for Podolski and Shaqiri,” Inter’s official website quotes the President as saying.
“They’re two players who I’m sure will do very well for us.
“We’re trying to be the best we can be, and these players, led by a great Coach like Mancini will help us a lot.
“I extend a welcome to Shaqiri and Podolski and, as always, forza Inter!”
