Juventus director Beppe Marotta insists there will be “no major signings” in the transfer window, including Neto.

The director general spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight’s big Serie A match against Napoli.

“Tonight the performance will be more important than the points, as we must react after the Super Cup defeat in Doha. There’s a long way to go this season and it’s not decisive, but in terms of confidence it could be.”

“Tonight the performance will be more important than the points, as we must react after the Super Cup defeat in Doha. There’s a long way to go this season and it’s not decisive, but in terms of confidence it could be.”

Marotta was asked about transfer gossip, including a proposed bid for Fiorentina outcast goalkeeper Norberto Neto.

“The January window is to repair squads and we do not need repairing. We will only see if there are any good opportunities. We thought Wesley Sneijder was an opportunity, but when Galatasaray put the veto on this move we looked elsewhere.

“We are not in talks for Neto. In defence there have been some recent injuries, but Caceres is recovered and Barzagli is on his way back.

“Do I deny interest in Rolando and Mkhitaryan? I won’t deny or confirm, they are just hypotheses.”
