Gianfranco Zola was pleased with Cagliari’s performance against Parma, even if it ended their Coppa Italia campaign.
The Sardinians were beaten 2-1 at the Stadio Tardini in the Round of 16 tie.
“I am happy with the performance, as it gave me so many things to work on during the course of the season,” Zola told reporters.
Marco Sau had the chance to turn the match around after the equaliser, but Antonio Mirante did not fall for the lob.
“Sau should’ve been more clinical and I told him that, as we could’ve given Parma the final blow.
“Unfortunately we made a mistake during our best moment of the game. This is football.”
