Report: Eto’o to Sampdoria done deal

There are reports that Sampdoria have finalised a deal for Samuel Eto’o, and a medical could take place on Monday.

The Cameroonian striker has been heavily linked with the Blucerchiati, but Everton manager Roberto Martinez cast doubts on those rumours earlier today.

However, according to Sky, an agreement has been reached between Everton, Sampdoria and Eto’o at a meeting in Paris, and the former Inter man will return to Serie A.

The news outlet states that a medical could take place as soon as Monday, with the Ligurian side hoping to have Eto’o available for the Coppa Italia tie with Inter on Wednesday.

It had previously been speculated that Eto’o will take a wage cut of around 40 per cent to make the deal happen.
