Sinisa Mihajlovic saw a “Sampdoria of two halves” in their controversial Palermo draw and warned Samuel Eto’o “must give us a hand.”

The Coach seemed irritable after a 1-1 result at Marassi, especially as his team would’ve lost had the officials seen Michel Morganella’s strike cross the line.

“We dominated the first half, but after the break everything changed. It wasn’t so much a game of two halves as a Sampdoria of two halves,” Mihajlovic told Radio Rai.

“For some reason, the players went out to defend the 1-0 and that is absolutely not the mentality I want. There’s nothing to defend when it’s only 1-0 and we are simply not capable of it.

“With that attitude, we allowed Palermo to regain their confidence and even risked defeat.”

Samp are still in the fight for third place, but after selling Manolo Gabbiadini to Napoli, new buys Luis Muriel and Eto’o aren’t available yet.

“We have been weakened without Gabbiadini, as he provided us with more alternatives. Eto’o is certainly a player who has won everything, brings visibility to the club and draws media attention. But that doesn’t interest me.

“I am only interested in what Eto’o can give me on the pitch. He needs to give us a hand and not be a distraction. If we are here now it’s because we work hard all week and give our all during the game.

“Eto’o has to figure out how we work and how we play. I know what he brings with him. I think an intelligent group can get the best out of Eto’o and vice versa.

“Eto’o has to settle into the Sampdoria world, but knowing him I don’t think that will be a problem.”
