Strama: 'Udinese can scare Napoli'

Andrea Stramaccioni already scared Napoli once last month and warns Udinese are ready to do it again.

This Serie A tie kicks off at the Stadio San Paolo at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

These sides already met in the recent Coppa Italia Round of 16, when 10-man Udinese forced a 2-2 draw and only lost on a penalty shoot-out.

“I think it will be a very different game from the Coppa Italia, because Napoli have picked up more points and scored more goals than anyone in 2015,” said Strama.

“We’ll enter a fiery atmosphere, especially considering the difficulties Roma are having, which opened up the race for second.

“We know that we have to follow up on our recent strong performances to cause Napoli problems. Their strike force is extraordinary, perhaps the best in the League.

“They have improved from last season, as are now more clinical and can wait for the right moment to strike. We had a preview of what to expect from that Coppa Italia game, so need to put in the right intensity.”

Udinese held leaders Juventus to a goalless draw last week and threatened a victory despite an injury crisis.

“Unfortunately, other than the goalkeepers, there are only 15 players making the trip. I complimented the lads for their game against Juventus, but also said I didn’t want to hear them talk about it again. All that’s left from it is one point.”

Antonio Di Natale and Panagiotis Kone are suspended, while Giampiero Pinzi, Alexandre Geijo, Maurizio Domizzi, Emmanuel Badu and Lucas Evangelista are still unavailable.

Molla Wague is a late addition to the squad after returning from African Cup of Nations duty.

Udinese squad for Napoli: Karnezis, Meret, Scuffet; Bubnjic, Danilo, Gabriel Silva, Heurtaux, Pasquale, Piris, Wague, Widmer; Allan, Fernandes, Guilherme, Jankto, Hallberg; Aguirre, Perica, Thereau
