Inter striker Mauro Icardi has revealed the reason he didn’t celebrate a brace against Palermo on Sunday - his agent told him not to.
The Argentinian striker was involved in an altercation with Nerazzurro Ultras after defeat to Sassuolo the previous week, and refused to celebrate either of his two goals last week.
“Against Palermo I didn’t celebrate because I had made that decision with my agent,” Icardi told Mediaset.
“It went well. We’ll see what happens in the next games.”
The former Sampdoria man, who has 13 goals in 22 Serie A games this term, then went on to discuss his goalscoring exploits, saying he never expected to be this prolific.
“Scoring is what fuels the team, I want to help Inter to get as high up the table as possible.
“I honestly wasn’t thinking about a future with so many goals when I arrived in Italy, I intended to do things little by little.
“If the team plays well, we can do well in attack. Not just me, but the people playing alongside me too.”
