Andrea Stramaccioni blamed Udinese for “getting too angry” after a dubious penalty in their 1-0 defeat to Lazio.
Antonio Candreva decided the match at the Stadio Friuli with a chipped spot-kick after a nudge on Miroslav Klose.
“It’s a shame, because this penalty created so much tension in the squad that we got too angry to play properly,” Strama told Mediaset Premium.
“From that moment on, we didn’t play the way we wanted to. It’s a shame, as it was important to get points today.
“In my view we had started well, but this incident got the lads really wound up. We have now given away eight penalties and had none in our favour. It’s a young team and I have to work on their attitude to prevent this happening again.
“The worst thing was that we lost our heads after that and let it ruin the rest of our performance.”
