“I am here because I believe in what I’m doing. I want to make this situation as dignified as possible,” said the Coach.

The Lega Serie A and FIGC passed a bailout package worth €5m, which should allow Parma to finish the season.

In exchange, the team demanded changes to the rules in order to ensure this cannot happen again.

“For example, today we will have our pre-match retreat at the Collecchio training ground. However, we are not robots, we have feelings and must think of this as a way of saving football rather than saving Parma. It’s not easy for us to step back on that pitch.

“We fear many things, but not facing other teams. We want to prove what we can do, even if we are scarred by all this.”

Donadoni also spoke to Radio Deejay this morning and discussed the situation of a club where nobody has been paid since July 2014 and items from the locker room were seized by bailiffs.

“We want to play and want all this to mean something. It won’t change for us, as we know full well we’re never getting those wages back. We just have to wait until the bankruptcy tribunal on March 19.

“Parma have a great staff and I can tell you the months of January and February were devastating. We trained, but talked about anything except football.”

The Coach also stood by current President Giampietro Manenti, who continues to promise money.

“I do find everything said about Manenti is unfair. Until proved otherwise, he does have another chance. The problems started long before him. We just want action and no more talking.”
