Andrea Stramaccioni told Antonio Di Natale it would “make no sense to retire now” after Udinese’s 3-2 win over Torino.
The captain was on target again, starting the fightback from 1-0 down at the Stadio Friuli.
“It’s not the first time we’ve conceded in the opening stages,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“I think the lads had a great performance. We needed to get back to being us and this victory is very important against one of the form teams in Italy.”
Di Natale has said he’s likely to hang up his boots this summer, but Strama and Udinese are desperate to change his mind.
“It makes no sense to retire now and I will try to convince him with these remaining games. He can’t be a player for 38 matches per season, but in 20 he still makes the difference.”
