After the 3-3 draw, Frosinone directors found a scrap of paper near the visitors’ bench.

It was the paper used to tell the Fourth Official which substitutions to complete, but on the back was written: ‘We score on a penalty.’

Entella completed their comeback for a 3-3 result with a 92nd-minute spot-kick.

“It is not a note to the officials, nor an amazing prediction,” explained Entella team manager Maurizio Podestà.

“I take notes throughout the game and as it was such an eventful encounter, I had run out of paper to write on.

“Therefore, I wrote on a separate piece of paper ‘we score on a penalty’ with the minute of Sforzini’s move.

“Then, seeing as Sforzini was immediately sent off after that, I had to get on to the pitch and haul him away to the locker room, as everything was coming down from the stands.

“I didn’t have time to pick up the extra bit of paper and left it there.”
