Referee Nicola Rizzoli said Napoli’s vocal criticism of the official against Atalanta was “disrespectful.”
“It is shameful!” wrote Napoli on their Twitter feed straight after the 1-1 draw on Sunday night.
“Tavecchio cannot lose his credibility in this way. The refereeing was not suited to Serie A and falsified the League.
“In England this would not have happened.”

Today 2014 World Cup Final referee Rizzoli responded to the Napoli statement slamming official Gianpaolo Calvarese.
“Criticism can be something extremely positive. It is necessary and to be encouraged. The important thing is that we maintain respect.
“If it goes beyond the concept of reciprocal respect, then criticism is unhelpful.”
