A former Coach of Milan midfielder Suso says he’s ‘frankly surprised’ that the Spaniard has hardly featured since moving from Liverpool.
The 21-year-old joined the Rossoneri in the January transfer window, but has so far played just nine minutes of a Coppa Italia tie against Lazio.
“Frankly I’m surprised that Suso never plays,” Javier Rodríguez Vílchez, who coached him at Almeria told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He’s young, he needs affection and guarantees. I understand that it’s difficult to stake everything on him, given he’s just arrived and is 21 but in my experience Suso is not afraid and doesn’t shy away from responsibiliity.
“And another thing, I spoke to the lad just before he signed for Milan and he was full of enthusiasm. He said he was convinced it was the right place to to well, to make the step up. It wasn’t.
“I used him in big games, like at Sevilla or in the Calderon against Atletico and he did well, although obviously the needs and ambitions are different at Almeria than at Milan.”
