“It is really moving for me to be back at the Juventus Stadium after three fantastic and indelible years,” Conte told Rai Sport.

He gives Empoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori his debut in this friendly, while Graziano Pellè and Eder are the all-new front pairing.

“It was right to reward Valdifiori, as he’s a lad who has worked his way up the ranks for years. He is a central midfielder who can fit into a three or two-man system, while he’s stronger defensively than Marco Verratti.

“In attack I could’ve started Franco Vazquez and Manolo Gabbiadini, but I chose Pellè and Eder.

“People have to understand there is a generational shift. We must all work together to see a winning Nazionale, though it will take time.”
