The Ducali had picked up seven points from their last three games against Inter, Udinese and leaders Juventus.

“This evening we lacked energy,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after the rescheduled Week 25 fixture.

Genoa won with determination and belief, winning many of the individual duels around the pitch. We gifted them the first half.

“Did the victory over Juve make us relax? We’ve no reason to relax. We worked to face Genoa, aware of their qualities, but didn’t control the game the way we wanted to.

“Some of the lads lacked belief and as time went on that made everything more complicated.”

Parma administrators have completed their evaluation of the club and are now waiting for a response from the bankruptcy tribunal.

“We’ve always tried to react to these situations on the field. We know the issue with the club and I am just waiting for things to be done with cool heads in future.

“We have administrators who are working in the best possible way and hope that a positive result can come from all this.”
