Parma have been deducted a further four points for financial irregularities, virtually condemning them to relegation.

The Ducali have already been docked points on two occasions this season, having failed to pay their players since July.

The club has been declared bankrupt and a rescue package agreed to fund them until the end of the season, but the FIGC had still to sanction for unpaid wages after September.

That judgement has arrived, with the Emilian side deducted a further four points, taking them from 16 points to 12.

A series of good results – including a win over Juventus – had given Parma a small hope of avoiding the drop to Serie B, but the club can now only take a maximum of 36 points.

With Atalanta in 17th on 29, Parma would almost certainly have to win all of their last eight games to evade the drop, with no guarantee they will not face further deductions.

Former President Giampietro Manenti and director Pietro Leonardi have been banned for six months.
