Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco was furious after losing to 10-man Verona. “My players should have Luca Toni’s attitude.”
Goalkeeper Rafael was sent off for handling outside the area after just 19 minutes, but Verona still emerged 3-2 winners.
“Hellas were more determined than us,” confessed Di Francesco on Rai Sport.
“I didn’t like the attitude of my players. Toni gave everything he had and caused us huge problems, scoring two goals.
“It makes me angry, because my young players should have Toni’s attitude. We need less chatter and more action.”
Sassuolo’s next game is against stuttering Roma, Di Francesco’s former club.
“We have several absentees, especially in defence, but that mustn’t be an alibi. We need the right attitude.”
