Roberto Donadoni admits Parma were “steamrollered” by Lazio as their relegation becomes official.

The Ducali lost 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico and, with a seven-point penalty due to financial problems, cannot secure their Serie A safety.

“Tonight we needed a different level of belief,” Coach Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.

“Lazio steamrollered us in every way, especially when it came to physical strength and the individual duels.

“We must learn from all that has happened to us this season, both on and off the field, building on the good things we’ve seen in the last few weeks.

“Tonight we played below our capabilities and I hope the defeat will help us to grow.”

Parma are under administration, but it remains to be seen if they can find a buyer capable of saving the club to play in Serie B next season.

If a buyer is not found to cover their massive debts, Parma will be dissolved and any new club would have to begin again from the amateur League.
