Antonio Di Natale said it was “an honour” to beat Roberto Baggio’s record, but won’t discuss his Udinese future.
The veteran striker found the net in today’s 1-0 victory away to Verona, his 206th Serie A strike leaving Baggio behind on 205.
“I am happy for me and for my team-mates,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a spectacular back-heel flick.
“We did well against a great Verona side. It is an honour to overtake Baggio and I am very happy for this goal.”
His contract runs to 2016, but Udinese have said they’ll release Di Natale if he asks to go early amid interest from MLS and Dubai.
“I don’t want to talk about my future.”
