Coach Fabrizio Castori assures Carpi “are not afraid of Serie A, even if it’ll be a whole new world to us.”
The tiny club from the outskirts of Modena won the Serie B tournament and earned its first ever promotion to the top flight.
“We are very proud to have set a new record in Serie B for the number of goals conceded,” Castori told Sky Sport Italia.
They completed the campaign last night with a 0-0 draw against Catania, their 23rd clean sheet in 42 games.
Carpi let it only 28 goals throughout the season, scoring 59.
“Serie A will be a whole new world to us, but we are not afraid. We will face up to the next season with a pinch of free spirit.”
