Gattuso was asked if he saw some of himself in Juve midfielder Stefano Sturaro.

“He is more of an attacking figure able to push forward, whereas I was more defensive. He is stronger technically, I was grittier.

“I see myself in Nainggolan, as when he’s in good shape, he can play with great intensity.”

Gattuso’s former Milan teammate Pippo Inzaghi has struggled as Coach, so the club is trying to talk Ancelotti into a comeback.

“Knowing Adriano Galliani, when he moves out on a mission, he always brings back something positive. That’s what history tells us, though this time it seems difficult.

“As a Milanista I hope that Carlo can bring back enthusiasm. Regardless of who is the Coach next season, I am convinced Silvio Berlusconi will build a great team.”
