There are reports Milan teenage prodigy Hachim Mastour will reject an Italy call to play for Morocco.
The 16-year-old had been expected to make his Serie A debut this season, but is yet to be called off the bench by Coach Pippo Inzaghi.
He is already a star name in some circles, having made an advertising campaign with Neymar.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and other sources, Mastour received a call-up from the Moroccan team for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya on June 12 and has accepted.
If he plays even one minute of football at senior level for Morocco, he won’t be eligible to change his mind and represent Italy in future.
Mastour was born in Reggio-Emilia from Moroccan parents and spent his entire life in the Peninsula.
He would become the youngest ever player to represent Morocco.
