There are reports Samir Handanovic has reached an agreement to extend his Inter contract to June 2019.
His current deal is set to expire next summer, so a transfer would be necessary before next season to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
According to the Corriere dello Sport online, the Slovenian international has made a significant step forward in negotiations this afternoon.
Handanovic is ready to sign a new contract to June 2019 worth €2.7m per season plus performance-related bonuses.
The 29-year-old has been targeted by Roma and Manchester United for several months, as he complained that he wanted to take part in the Champions League.
Inter have not even qualified for the 2015-16 edition of the Europa League.
