Javier Zanetti hinted Inter met with Bayern Munich today to discuss defender Medhi Benatia.
“We are here in Berlin with (President Erick) Thohir, (CEO Michael) Bolingbroke and (CFO Michael) Williamson, working to make Inter protagonists again,” Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia.
“Piero Ausilio will work very hard and have an infernal summer, as the eight or nine players requested by Roberto Mancini are a lot to handle.”
Several sources claim they saw Bolingbroke in talks with Bayern Munich chiefs about Benatia today.
“Benatia is a great champion and a great defender, but we must always go into these things with caution,” added Zanetti.
Morocco international centre-back Benatia only joined Bayern Munich a year ago, paying Roma €28m.
