Inter’s search for a midfielder continues, now looking down the wish-list to Thiago Motta and Felipe Melo.

The Nerazzurri aimed high for reinforcements this summer, but Yaya Toure seems intent on remaining with Manchester City.

Their second target, €28m-rated Monaco man Geoffrey Kondogbia, is in talks with city rivals Milan instead.

Roberto Mancini is therefore forced to go down the list for alternative names.

The next midfielder in the running is Paris Saint-Germain’s Italy international Thiago Motta.

It would be a return to San Siro for Motta, who turns 33 in August, as he already played for Inter from 2009 to January 2012.

His contract with PSG is due to expire in June 2016, so he could be allowed to leave for a nominal fee.

However, Sevilla have also made a proposal to Motta, who’d be able to play in the Champions League.

If that deal doesn’t go through either, then the Nerazzurri will turn their focus back on to Galatasaray’s Brazilian Felipe Melo.

He worked with Mancini before in Istanbul and according to Sky Sport Italia is waiting for the call.
