“It’s a shame, as we had so many chances at the end to equalise,” the Palermo striker told Rai Sport.
“I think Portugal have a lot of quality in attack, they’re really quick and caused us a few problems.”

Italy started with the 4-3-3 system, then with Vazquez coming on moved to 4-2-4.
“Coming off the bench in a match like this, 1-0 down, it’s never easy. We still created the opportunities to score more than one goal.
“I could’ve hit my chance better, but he also made a good save.”
Vazquez was asked about his club future and left the door wide open.
“I have a contract with Palermo, but I don’t know what I am going to do yet.”
