Sinisa Mihajlovic described the attitude he wants from his Milan, working with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and target Carlos Bacca.

The new Coach sat down with Sky Sport Italia to discuss this adventure, taking over from Pippo Inzaghi.

“I want a team that always plays to win. Our opponents must go back to being frightened of Milan,” said the ex-Samp boss.

“I want to give courage and grit to these lads. I’ve already spoken to them and they’re ready to get to work.

“It is a privilege to be able to exchange ideas with President Silvio Berlusconi, as he has won more than anyone and is the best person to explain what Milan represents.

“I will speak to the President, but ultimately I am responsible for the team.”

Mihajlovic had famously said he would never join Milan due to his experiences at Inter as both player and assistant manager. What changed his mind?

“When I was young, I tended to divide the world into us and the rest, so I needed enemies to fire me up. Now I am 46 years old and no longer need to think like that.

“It will be a wonderful experience and a great challenge at Milan, because it’s an extra motivation to change the minds of sceptics.”

The Rossoneri have so far stuttered on the transfer market, losing out on Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jackson Martinez.

Some of their current targets include PSG striker Ibrahimovic, Roma midfielder Andrea Bertolacci and Sevilla forward Bacca.

“I already worked with Ibrahimovic. I like to train great players,” smiled Mihajlovic.

“Bertolacci? I don’t like to talk about players who aren’t at Milan. He is an excellent player and I like him a great deal. He has the characteristics to be worthy of Milan, but for now we don’t know if he will arrive.

“As for Bacca, he is a great forward and certainly ready for Serie A, although I don’t know yet for which team.”
