As with all the players under contract with Parma, he is now a free agent following the club’s bankruptcy.
Torino had also been interested in making a bid for the Portuguese defender.
Today he was formally announced as a new player for Rennes in Ligue 1.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-season contract.
