Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli confirms ‘I’ve expressed my willingness to stay for Serie D’, following bankruptcy.
The Ducali were declared insolvent last month, and as such will have to begin again next year in the amateur leagues.
All of their players have become free agents following the liquidation of the club, but it appears their captain is willing to join up again.
“This year, unfortunately, we didn’t have many high points, but beating Juventus was one of those,” Lucarelli told Mediaset.
“Parma must restart, we’re being rebuilt and I’ve expressed my willingness to stay for Serie D. I’m waiting to see what will happen, but I’ve given my approval.”
The defender also discussed one of his former teammates, Jose Mauri, who is on the verge of joining Milan.
“Milan have pulled off a great signing, because of Jose’s age, as well as the great personality he has, he’s ahead of a lot of players his age.
“He’s ready for a starting shirt.”
