Juventus and Roma are said to be tracking ‘new Michael Essien’ Daniel Amartey of FC Copenhagen.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder is already a senior Ghana international with three caps under his belt.
He spent most of his career in Scandinavia, first with Djurgardens IF and then Copenhagen since July 2014.
According to Calciomercato.it, both Juventus and Roma have set their sights on Amartey.
They could join up with a smaller Serie A club to sign him initially, thereby not using up one of their limited slots for non-EU players.
The Italian giants face competition from the likes of Monaco, Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Galatasaray.
