Axel Witsel’s Italian agent reveals “the player said yes to Milan. They’re prepared to pay €20m, but Zenit want €30m.”
The Belgian midfielder was a primary transfer target earlier this summer and appears to be back on board.
“At the start Axel was not convinced by Milan’s proposal, because he was looking for a club that played in the Champions League,” Riccardo Napolitano told Antenna 3 television.
“However, the Rossoneri were very insistent and at the end the player said yes to their offer. The first hurdle has therefore been overcome.
“Now they need to satisfy Zenit’s demands. Milan are prepared to spend €20m, but the Russians are asking for €30m to €35m.”
