Italy have fallen to 17th in the latest FIFA World Rankings, their lowest position since the ranking system was introduced.
The Azzurri have won just one of their last five games, a friendly win over Albania, and have dropped four places in the latest table.
Antonio Conte’s men have now fallen Slovakia, Austria and Croatia in the World Rankings.
Wales have entered the top 10 for the first time ever, while Argentina’s Copa America exploits have seen them rise to the top of the table.
Italy’s previous lowest position was 16th, after the disastrous 2010 World Cup campaign, while the Azzurri’s high point is first place in January 2007, and then April to June 2007, after winning the 2006 World Cup.
