There have been numerous players coming in, but from this year all Serie A squads must be limited to 25 players and Inter currently have 32.

“There is a rule and that means common sense,” continued Ausilio. “The Coach and club already have the team in mind, there will be decisions on who will leave. Some have already rejected a move and those who did must understand that another opportunity might not come along.

“These are the numbers and we cannot go beyond those. We also choose two or three young players to move into the senior squad.

“For some time now I have been asked to sell in order to buy, aside from Financial Fair Play. I don’t like to take people for a ride.

“So far we’ve worked bringing players in and tried to get it done quickly, as certain people might not be available later on in the summer.

“That doesn’t mean our capabilities are limitless or that we’re only buying. Now we have to find resources via sales and balance the books.”

Among those on the chopping block are Shaqiri, Davide Santon, Fredy Guarin and Juan Jesus.
