Marek Hamsik said “there’s a big difference between Rafa Benitez and Maurizio Sarri. Napoli work much harder now.”
The Slovak international spoke at a meet-and-greet with fans on Friday evening.
“There’s a big difference between Benitez and Sarri,” said Hamsik.
“We work much harder now, both physically and tactically. Sarri is maniacal when it comes to tactical training.
“I had a muscular problem and when I’m ready I will be right back in training. It feels bad to be on the sidelines and watch my teammates training while I can’t.”
The captain was also asked whether he’d like to resume penalty duties after Gonzalo Higuain’s notorious problems from the spot.
“I haven’t taken penalties for a couple of years now. Edi Cavani took them first, now it’s Pipita. We’ll see what happens in future.
“Winning the Europa League is an objective, but Napoli have to win everywhere and hopefully will reach at least the semi-final again.
“I’ve been here for many years and have to set the example to the others, but Pepe Reina will give me a big hand in that.”
