The midfielder seems relieved after Don Rafa left to take over at Real Madrid, welcoming new boss Maurizio Sarri with open arms.

“I like the new 4-3-1-2 system,” Hamsik told Mediaset Premium ahead of today’s friendly against Anaune.

“The Coach and I spoke several times and decided to try me out in a three-man midfield. It is my old position, but a little different to the way I played a few years ago.

“Benitez? We used the same system for two years. In all that time, we never changed once. This squad has a lot of quality and we’ve brought in new players too.

“I think Lorenzo Insigne can do very well as a trequartista, because he is so quick in tight spaces.

“The real coup was keeping Gonzalo Higuain. He is fundamental, as he scored 60 goals in two years. Losing a player like that would’ve been tough.”

Napoli: Rafael; Maggio, Albiol, Luperto, Ghoulam; Inler, Valdifiori, De Guzman; Insigne, Callejon, Gabbiadini
