Gigi Buffon has sold 70 per cent of Lega Pro club Carrarese Calcio to new investors.

The Juventus goalkeeper bought his hometown club and coaxed it back into Italy’s third tier.

He initially invested in 2010, then gradually bought up more shares to become sole owner in 2012.

His family company, GVG Immobiliare, is represented by Gigi and his father Adriano Buffon.

Today they sold 70 per cent of the shares to Roman investor Raffaele Tartaglia.

Buffon will continue to hold 30 per cent of Carrarese shares.
