Serie A 2015-16 almost ready

The Serie A 2015-16 fixture list will be drawn up on Monday evening and the season runs from August 22 to May 15.

This ceremony will start at the Expo centre in Milan at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT).

It had originally been planned for Tuesday, but was brought forward.

The top flight campaign kicks off on the weekend of August 22-23 and concludes on May 15 2016.

There will be five midweek rounds on September 23, October 10, January 1, February 3 and April 20.

There are breaks for international duty and Christmas, meaning there are no Serie A games on the weekends of September 6, October 11, November 15, December 27, January 1 and March 27.

Teams cannot have more than two consecutive home games or away fixtures.

Local derbies (apart from Milan-Inter) and clashes between the big clubs (Inter, Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Roma) cannot be scheduled for midweek rounds.

Champions League and Europa League teams will not be paired together in Week 7, 10, 13 and 17.

We already know that due to various issues regarding stadium restructuring, other local events and concerts, the first round will have Atalanta, Bologna, Carpi, Napoli, Torino and Udinese away from home.
