Fiorentina will reportedly turn to Roma striker Mattia Destro as a replacement for Mario Gomez.
Gomez has asked for time to consider whether or not to accept a move to Besiktas in Turkey, but seems set to leave the Viola this summer in any case.
According to Tuttosport, Italian international Destro has been identified as an ideal replacement for the outgoing forward, with the 24-year-old not in Coach Rudi Garcia’s plans.
The former Siena man spent the second half of last season on loan at Milan, but the Rossoneri opted not to take up their option on him.
If Destro were to move to Artemio Franchi, it could pave the way for Mohamed Salah to complete his move to the Giallorossi.
The Viola are considering legal action to stop the Egyptian winger moving to another Serie A side after he opted not to return to Fiorentina for another season on loan, but could be placated by a Destro deal.
