Fiorentina could close for Cagliari's Davide Astori in the next two days, beating the competition of Juventus.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, a meeting between Fiorentina and Cagliari yesterday allowed both clubs to make some progress towards an agreement.

The deal is not entirely settled however, as La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals a difference in Cagliari's demand of €7m and Fiorentina's offer of €5m.

The Gigliati are expected to try and sign the player within the next 48 hours, and the Gazzetta believes they'll be happy to compromise half-way in terms of price.
