Napoli have officially confirmed the signing of Empoli defender Elseid Hysaj on a permanent basis.
The transfer has been certain for some time, with the Albanian international making his Partenopei debut in Sunday’s friendly with Nice.
At that point, the deal had not been officially completed, but the final confirmation has now arrived.
“Napoli have officially bought Elseid Hysaj,” the Vesuviani confirmed on their official website.
“The Albanian defender joins the Azzurri outright. While waiting for his contract to be finalised, Hysaj made his debut in the friendly with Nice, coming on in the second half.”
The figures involved in the transfer were not divulged, but it’s thought Napoli will pay around €6m for the 21-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract.
