Inter could be without Nemanja Vidic for up to six months, as the defender requires surgery for a hernia.
The Serbian international joined the Nerazzurri from Manchester United last summer, but failed to impress during his debut Serie A campaign.
The Beneamata were thought to be looking to sell the 33-year-old, but that appears to be off the table as Sky and Corriere dello Sport report that Vidic will have an operation tomorrow for a hernia.
The latter explains that the player underwent non-surgical treatment in July, but that has failed to improve the situation, meaning he must go under the knife.
The surgery is likely to keep the centre-back out of action for between four and six months, meaning Vidic is unlikely to feature until early 2016.
