The Egyptian international joined the Giallorossi this summer as they attempt yet again to break the stranglehold of Juventus on Serie A.

In his official introduction to the Press, Salah was initially asked whether he had already been in touch with Coach Rudi Garcia.

“He spoke to me when we were in London,” he said. “He let me know how keen he was to have me.

“My relationship with him is excellent.

“I think the team has some important elements that can help us compete on all fronts.

“I hope to win with Roma, because our objective is to make our supporters happy.

“Juventus are a great team but my teammates and I can surpass expectations.”

The 23-year-old was under the wing of José Mourinho, but Salah says he doesn't resent the Portuguese's choice to let him go.

“I respect him very much. I still have a good relationship with him.

“He's one of the greatest coaches in the world. He had his opinion and it has to be respected.

“I learnt a lot from him before moving away.

“My statements on Israel? I really don't know what you're talking about, if you have some actual quotes I'll discuss them but I can't go over everything that is spread on the internet.”
