Mohamed Salah defends his 'right to choose' between Fiorentina and Roma, and says the Coach doesn't matter: 'I give my best with everyone'.

The 23-year-old spent the last six months of the past season playing for the Viola, but he joined the Giallorossi over the summer at the end of a controversial mercato affair.

Even so, Salah says he is not bitter when he thinks back to Fiorentina.

“My experience with them was useful,” he said. “I spent six months at my best with my family, but that period is over.

Even so, Salah says he is not bitter when he thinks back to Fiorentina.

“My experience with them was useful,” he said. “I spent six months at my best with my family, but that period is over.

“I had the right to choose and that's why I'm at Roma now.

“Montella was a good Coach but I'm a professional and I give my best with him and with other coaches alike.

“I was doing fine in Florence, I made the most out of my time there.

“I'm in Rome to continue on my path and reach some new objectives.

“Roma tried to sign me in January? That's a question best left for [sporting director Walter] Sabatini.”

Salah was also supported by Roma CEO Italo Zanzi, who was with him at the presentation.

“The truth is that we're always following the same line, that of winning,” said Zanzi.

“We have a great team backing up the team on the pitch.

“It starts from the President down to the Coach, but we're not working to conquer headlines, rather to win football matches and the championship.”
