Goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is recovering from two broken ribs and might skip Lazio's Champions League play-off against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Biancocelesti face the German team two days from now in a match that could have tremendous financial consequences on their future.
However it seems they may have to play the match without their international goalkeeper.
Aquile doctor Roberto Bianchini was interviewed by Lazio Style Radio 89.3 FM and discussed the player's conditions.
“The day before yesterday Federico Marchetti suffered a contusion to his right thorax,” he said.
“Our exams revealed a fracture in the two lower ribs.
“It's nothing terribly serious, but it limits his availability because of the pain.
“He started the cure. As for his return, we can only find out day after day.”
Sky Sports Italia further reports that the player has been given a rest and the decision on whether to play him is still pending.
