Bulgaria international Aleksandar Tonev has officially joined Frosinone from Aston Villa in a permanent deal.
The winger, who spent last season on loan at Scottish champions Celtic, becomes the newly-promoted Serie A side’s ninth signing of the summer.
He joins fellow new faces such as Modibo Diakite, Aleandro Rosi, Samuele Longo, Daniele Verde and Nicola Leali at the club.
“The 25-year-old Bulgarian winger Aleksandar Tonev has arrived from Aston Villa in an outright transfer,” the club tweeted today.
Tonev’s spell in the Premier League had limited success, as he only made 17 league appearances since signing in 2013.
However, the winger has international experience with Bulgaria, and has scored three times in his 17 caps for the national team.
