Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini can’t understand why Franco Vazquez doesn’t play for Italy more often, comparing him to Roberto Baggio.
Though he was born in Argentina, the 26-year-old has been capped twice by Azzurri CT Antonio Conte, but remained on the bench for wins over Malta and Bulgaria.
“Vazquez is like Baggio,” Zamparini told Andkronos.
“He provides fantasy, he’s the man for the final ball. I don’t understand why Conte doesn’t play him.
“If he wants a national team full of workers, then don’t call up those who are important for us at Palermo.
“He could have played against Bulgaria in his own stadium. I don’t understand why everybody plays and not him.”
